GPCC in World Series Contest with St. Petersburg Chamber October 23, 2008

We’ve been challenged by the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce down in Florida to a friendly wager around the 2008 World Series. Since we all know that the Phillies are going to win the World Series just as easily as we won Game 1, we’ve gladly accepted.
We’re putting up a gift basket of Philadelphia’s great game day munchies including Tastykakes and Goldenberg’s Peanut Chews from Pennsylvania General Store, the 2009 Excellence Award Retailer of the Year.
The St. Petersburg Chamber is putting up a bushel of oranges and Cuban sandwiches. If the Rays win, St. Petersburg Chamber President John T. Long wants our President & CEO, Mark Schweiker, to wear a Rays jersey and RaysHawk wig–whatever that is.
“When the Phillies win the World Series, we’d like a keepsake photo of John T. Long wearing a Phillies’ cap and eating a Butterscotch Krimpet,” said Mark.
We certainly look forward to seeing that.
Here in the office today, we’re all decked out in our Phillies gear, celebrating last night’s win. Send us photos of your office’s Phillies spirit and we’ll put them up here.
GO PHILS!
